Pass Chorale will present Celebration of Christmas concert in Banning – Press Enterprise

The Pass Chorale will present its Celebration of Christmas concert 2:30 p.m. Dec. 10 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1320 W. Williams St., Banning.

The concert will feature the Magnificat in D by J.S. Bach, a work for five-part chorus, soloists and orchestra, celebrating the song of Mary, “My soul magnifies the Lord.” Soloists are Penny Quinn, soprano; Lynn Ivey, mezzo-soprano; Peter Tupou, tenor; and Erick Ramirez, bass.

The second half of the concert includes several Christmas anthems, including two by Banning composer Bill Bell and one in Spanish arranged by Ernest Siva, who directs the Pass Chorale, according to a news release. The chorale will also sing “Ose Shalom,” a Hebrew song that is a cry for peace.

There will also be a carol sing-along, giving the audience a chance to sing carols accompanied by the orchestra.

Tickets are $20 for general admission, $15 for students and seniors.
