Man dies in Moreno Valley hit-and-run – Press Enterprise

A man was struck and killed in Moreno Valley by a hit-and-run driver whom authorities were working to identify.

The deadly hit-and-run occurred just before 6 p.m. Monday at the intersection of the Old Interstate 215 Frontage Road and Bay Avenue, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Sgt. Marcos Acosta said the victim, whose identity was not immediately released, was walking southbound on Frontage Road when a northbound vehicle plowed into him.

“After the collision, the driver fled the scene without stopping,” Acosta said.

He said that paramedics reached the location a short time later and attempted life-saving measures, but the pedestrian was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives were gathering evidence Tuesday in an attempt to identify the suspect.
