Driver killed after his Kia rear ends a bus in Corona – Press Enterprise

A 36-year-old man was killed after his sedan collided with a bus at a Corona intersection on Friday, Jan. 19, authorities said.

At around 1 p.m., Jorge Vera was heading eastbound on 6th street in a Kia sedan at a “high rate of speed” when he rear-ended a Riverside Transit Agency bus that was stopped at the Grand Boulevard intersection, according to Corona Police Cpl. Tobias Kouroubacalis.

Vera, the sole occupant in his vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The bus driver was uninjured and two passengers suffered minor injuries, Kouroubacalis said.

It was not clear on Sunday whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
