The Killers, Babyface and more are headed to Southern California casinos next week – Press Enterprise

Next week, Southern California casinos are hosting a Las Vegas-based rock band, a musician paying tribute to his late father, a comedian who is now a head writer on one of the longest-running sketch comedy shows on television, an R&B legend and a Mexican pop icon of the 2000s.

The Killers

The Killers is a rock band based out of Las Vegas. They started in the early ’00s and served as a contrast to other popular groups at the time that were riding the trends of nu-metal, punk and rap. The band got their name from a logo on the bass drum of a fictitious band portrayed in the music video for the New Order song “Crystal.” The band is known for the hits “Mr. Brightside,” “When You Were Young” and “All These Things That I Have Done.” 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21 at Yaamava’ Resort & Casino, 777 San Manuel Blvd., Highland. A.J. Croce

Adrian James “A.J.” Croce is the son of musician and folk singer Jim Croce, who died in a plane crash when A.J. was two years old. He picked up guitar and began writing music of his own and has since toured with artists like Willie Nelson, Lenny Kravitz and B.B. King. Croce will perform an intimate show in Rancho Mirage dubbed Croce Plays Croce. Babyface

Kenny Brian Edmonds, also known by his stage moniker, Babyface, is a 12-time Grammy award winner, singer, songwriter, and record producer specializing in R&B and soul. Funk bassist and songwriter Bootsy Collins gave the singer his stage name because of his youthful looks. Colin Jost

Colin Jost is a comedian, actor and the current head writer of “Saturday Night Live.” He joined “Saturday Night Live” as a writer in 2005 and became a co-head writer in 2012. Jost has also co-hosted the “Weekend Update” since 2014 alongside fellow cast member and comedian, Michael Che. In 2015, Jost wrote “Staten Island Summer,” a coming-of-age comedy released by Paramount Pictures and produced by Lorne Michaels. Paulina Rubio

Paulina Rubio is a Mexican singer, songwriter and television personality who got her big break as a member of the successful pop group Timbiriche. She later embarked on a solo career and became a pop icon and one the most influential women in Mexico.
