Aldi opening this week in Moreno Valley; Sky Zone opens in Rancho Cucamonga – Press Enterprise

The discount grocer Aldi opens Thursday, Nov. 9 in Moreno Valley.

The store touts super-low prices on everyday items including produce, meat and pantry goods.

Aldi is part of a new shopping center near the intersection of Iris Avenue and Perris Boulevard. Other tenants at the center include Quick Quack carwash, Starbucks and Habit Burger.

The grocery store hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Aldi is known for its sparse retail space and knockoff store brands that copycat national brands. Shoppers might find a jar of mayonnaise that looks like Hellmann’s or Best Foods here in the West, but it’s actually the Aldi brand. Produce prices can be a third of what shoppers might see at traditional stores like Von’s or Ralphs.

Last week, Aldi and Walmart announced they were both lowering prices on Thanksgiving feast items. Shoppers will find some of their favorite comfort food items marked down up to 50% at Aldi. The discounts at both retailers will run through the end of the year.

“With inflation still looming, we’re providing shoppers extra relief to make the holidays a time for celebration, not stress,” said Dave Rinaldo, president of Aldi. “What’s served on the Thanksgiving table is just as important as who’s sitting around it, so Aldi is delivering big savings on key items so there’s always room for more guests.”

Sky Zone opens in Rancho Cucamonga

The jumping emporium known as Sky Zone has opened in the Foothill Marketplace in Rancho Cucamonga.

The facility, wedged next to the 15 freeway on the western side of the shopping center, has myriad ways kids and adults can jump, leap and climb to their heart’s content.

Customers at this new Sky Zone also will find a Scoop Slide, zip lines, bouncing mats, foam pits and more.

There are 28 Sky Zones in California and more are coming. Inland Empire residents will get two, one in Temecula and another in San Bernardino.

Last week we learned that San Bernardino residents would have even more family fun event spaces with the addition of Main Event Entertainment in Montclair. The company is planting its first Southern California fun zone and event center at Montclair Place. The 51,802-square-foot space below the 12-theater AMC Dine-In should open by 2025.

SB industrial center sells for $9.2 million

The San Bernardino Industrial Center had traded hands for $9.2 million, according to CBRE.

Birtcher Anderson & Davis and Belay Investment Group sold the nine-building complex at 360-458 East Rialto Ave. in San Bernardino. The buyer was not identified by CBRE but is listed in county documents as CA-SBD-001 Property LLC.

“This property has a strong tenancy history,” said Sammy Cemo, a first vice president at CBRE. “With its high occupancy, the property offers stability, cash flow and diversification for the new owner. New ownership will also benefit in capturing future upside by continuing the business plan in bringing in-place rents to market levels.”

The complex had 41 tenants at the time of the sale (97% full), CBRE said.

Suite of salons coming to Rancho Mirage

Arabella Salon and Wellness Suites are opening in Rancho Mirage.

The suites offer a variety of beauty services including hair stylists, aestheticians, nail technicians, yoga instructors and other wellness professionals.

The business will host tours at a grand opening from noon to 2 p.m. on Nov. 12.

Denise Singler has been promoted to vice president of integrated marketing at Stater Bros. Markets in San Bernardino. She started at Stater Bros. in its Information Technology Department. Before that, Singler held roles in the retail food business.

Appointments

Edward Muzik of Indian Wells has been reappointed to the Colorado River Basin Regional Water Quality Control Board, where he has served since 2007. Muzik served as General Manager of the Hi-Desert Water District of Yucca Valley from 2007 to 2021, where he was chief financial officer from 2002 to 2006. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $250 per diem. Muzik is registered without party preference.

Make-A-Wish marks milestone with a furry wish

Make-A-Wish Orange County and the Inland Empire raised $800,000 at the “The Make-A-Wish Gala: An Evening in Monaco.”

The event on Oct. 21 marked a big milestone for the nonprofit, which granted its 8,000th wish in 40 years.

That wish was granted to 10-year-old Xayden, who recently completed treatment for leukemia. While Xayden was surprised to see his life story playing out on big screens at the event, the bigger surprise came in a box — a puppy!
