Fontana police shoot, wound suspect in Taco Bell parking lot – Press Enterprise

Fontana police shot a person in the parking lot of a Taco Bell on Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 31, the Fontana Police Department said. There was no word Wednesday night on the person’s condition.

It wasn’t clear what led up to the shooting, and other details about the incident were not immediately available.

Officer Daniel Romero, a department spokesman, said officers were following up on a case just after 1:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Taco Bell at Foothill Boulevard and Mango Avenue when they encountered the person and shot him. The suspect was taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton “in unknown condition,” Romero said.

Hours after the shooting, there was no update on the suspect’s condition.

No officers were reported injured, Romero said.
