Michael Zangl named football coach at Tesoro – Orange County Register

Michael Zangl is the new football coach at Tesoro, the school announced Tuesday.

Zangl has been on the Tesoro coaching staff for three seasons, including working as the Titans junior varsity head coach.

He played football at Tesoro and was an All-South Coast League offensive lineman when the Titans won league championships in the 2007 and ’08 seasons.

He also played at Saddleback College. Zangl was a strength and conditioning coach at the University of Arizona.

Zangl replaces Matt Poston, who resigned after the 2023 season. It was Poston’s 11th as the team’s head coach.

Tesoro last season finished 5-5 overall and 1-2 in the four-team South Coast League.
